An Azerbaijan Airlines plane carrying 72 passengers crashed on Wednesday near Kazakhstan's Aktau Airport. The crash resulted in the death of at least 38 people on board. To mourn the loss, Azerbaijan has declared a day of mourning.
A total of 29 people have survived the crash and are receiving treatment in the hospital.
As per the statement issued byKazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, 11 of the survivors are in critical condition.

What Caused The Plane Crash?As the investigation into the crash begins, the President of Azerbaijan has ordered the State Commission to investigate the incident and find out the reason behind the crash.
As per state agency AZERTAC, family members and relatives of the passengers involved in the crash have been informed of the incident.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by Azerbaijan in collaboration with Kazakh authorities.
The black box of the Embraer 190 passenger plane has been recovered and will be examined to determine the cause of the crash.
The reason behind the crash is yet to be determined. However, as per Russia's aviation watchdog, the emergency situation was likely due to a bird strike.
However, Azerbaijani President Ilham, Aliyev's official statement says that preliminary data suggested the plane crashed during landing.
